The breakout star of Rupauls Drag Race comes Utopia Video Niteclub and Entertainment Complex Saturday September 22nd along with resident DJ, J. Stevens for a night full of comedy and entertainment!
Pandora Boxx has been internationally entertaining the masses for more than a decade. Pandora is best known as a contestant on the smash hit RuPaul’s Drag Race (Season 2) on Logo and VH1. Despite not winning, Pandora proved to be the break-out star and was named by Entertainment Weekly “as their America’s Next Drag Superstar.” EW.com also called Pandora’s “the most controversial elimination of the season.” Fans voted Pandora “Miss Congeniality” of the show, winning by “a landslide.” That popularity lead to becoming a drag professor on the spin-off show called RuPaul’s Drag U (Season 1 and 2) for which Pandora was voted MVP both seasons by fans of the show. Pandora hosted the all drag queen comedy show, One Night Stand Up: Dragtastic NYC which also aired on Logo. Pandora starred in her own GLAAD award winning Absolut ‘Cocktail Cabaret’ commercials, opened for Leann Rimes and Chely Wright, appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (NBC), Jeffrey & Cole Casserole (Logo), Clip of the Week on The Soup (Comedy Central) and NBC’s Are You There, Chelsea? Currently, Pandora is a writer for the new Gay Voices section of the Huffington Post as well as writing a weekly recap of Season 4 of RuPaul’s Drag Race for NewNowNext.com.
Pandora is also the creator, writer and star of the public access/internet show The GAY (means happy) SHOW! (youtube.com/gayshow)! Pandora’s credits run the gamut of media, including stage (Steel Magnolias in the role of Annelle), screen (A Voice from the Lantern in the role of Marvelous Marvin) and television (VH1′s drag documentary Boys Will Be Girls) as well as having work featured in several film festivals like the ImageOut Gay & Lesbian Film Festival and the Berkeley Film and Video Festival (receiving two honorable mentions). Most recently Pandora produced, starred in and wrote the hit play “The Lipstick Massacre,” a comedic murder mystery. The play premiered at Rochester’s MUCCC (www.muccc.org) to four sold out shows which prompted its return several months later to the prestigious Geva Theatre Center, also in Rochester, to rave reviews.
In 2011, Pandora released a debut single called “Cooter!” The single rocketed to number 56 on the Dance Singles Chart of iTunes as well as reaching the number two position on Amazon’s Dance & DJ/Dance Pop Hot New Releases Chart right behind Adele.
Pandora continues to tour the world spreading glitter, humor and fabulosity to the masses.
